#17: Break Something on Purpose

I was just telling my co-workers about my 30 Before 30 Bucket List.  They insisted on helping me to complete one of the items on my list.  Therefore, Al helped me to break one of the ornaments on the office xmas tree.  I shall post a picture later. :)

#25: go to a (nerdy) convention

Ah, Steel City Con.  I almost forgot that this was coming up... and since I do not have the means to attend Comic Con, this was going to need to do for the purposes of my list.  A massive THANK YOU to Ringa for reminding me as she, Althea, and Jess were tabling there.  (By the way, you should all check out Tinned Pineapple's amazing upcycled crafts!)

Not sure why I have this look on my face.

Proof I was there!

So, this was my first Con and I was not sure what to expect.  As it was pretty last minute, I ended up attending on my own and I can tell you for sure it was a slightly overwhelming experience.  I literally spent the first 15 minutes attempting to hold back giggles.  However, I'm not sure if those were giggles of excitement or giggles of "OMG. WTF are you wearing that in public?"  I was looking for Harry Potter stuff, which I am sad to say was in short supply.  I ended up not buying anything, but I did get a kick out of being there.  Due to my weird anxiety of being in crowded places, I ended up not staying for too long, but it was a pretty nifty experience.  If you see this today (Saturday, Dec 3, 2011), you still have another day to attend!!!

#14: Make a really complicated Jack-o-lantern!

I'm sorry I got behind of the updating!  Life has been busy!  But in any case, several weeks before Halloween my friend Jamie (you will remember her from the 5K, of course) helped me to make my first complicated Jack-o-lantern.  First, I went with my mother and brother Greggy to Trax Farms to pick out some awesome pumpkins!

My favorite pumpkins are the warty and oddly shaped ones.  So, I got one really tall one, a warty one, and a baby one!

I learned later that for the purpose of carving, this may not be the best standpoint.  But everything worked out just fine!  Here are some pictures of the super-fun night!
It's an owl sitting on top of a Jack-o-Lantern!

Jamie's burning house is awesome!!!
